hey hey
I’m writing this on Sunday instead of Monday because I’m going on a roadtrip tomorrow! By the time you’re reading this, I’m already there. Ahh the power of technology.
Well this past week has been ‘A’ week of Alphabet Superset. My object around the house of the week, which you might have already seen on Instagram, is an aroma diffuser.
I started by creating the poster. I actually started on Monday already, and left the design until Saturday. I didn’t want to spend too much time on it, because I didn’t want to overthink and end up hating the design, the laptop and start to question why am I even a designer. So yeah. Here’s the poster result.
Because I created it in A3, I decided to resize it for Instagram, so I wouldn’t need to have a border. Then I tried different ways to modify it for a t-shirt:

In the end, I chose this one:
And, following the instructions I set last week (for you, it’s two weeks ago), I published the t-shirt design on Everpress.
I don’t know how I feel about the design, honestly. Especially, the t-shirt design just feels very stupid? hahaha But I just have to keep going, hopefully in the following weeks it gets easier, and it makes more sense too 😅
Anyway, because next week – again, this week for you – I’m away and computerless, I’ll move the B week design to C week and just do them together.
Let’s get down to biznus

I’ve decided to publish the website after the trip, because I don’t want to rush it to publish it now, just in case any issues with the website were to come up.
But I do have an update that is coming together with the new website. I’ve been thinking and planning this for a looong time. I wanted to create website templates for the longest time. I know you may be thinking, yet another web designer making templates, how predictable. Well, maybe, but hear me out.
Working with clients one on one, I’ve had many requests, but only very few have turned into clients. The reasons: I didn’t enough time, and most importantly, they didn’t have the financial capacity to cover the cost. Not everyone has the budget to invest in a custom website, especially small little freelancers and other creatives, and even more so, those just starting out.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Investing more money to have a designer and developer make a website for you is a smart move. A decision that makes sense for established busine biznusses looking to grow even more, or startups with big budgets.
I surely don’t have that budget either. I’m lucky I like web design and development, and I’m good at it. Otherwise, I’d get a template too, because, as of now, I couldn’t afford custom web design and development. But I’d still want a website, and preferably one that doesn’t look like everyone else’s (*cough* Squarespace *cough*).
I’m sorry for all this text. Take a minute to breathe and like the post, I know you need it 😀
So I want to be able to offer people like me a good website option. Those who I relate to, with smaller budgets. While I’m still going to create websites one-on-one, I’m now going to be focusing on creating templates.
Well, not just templates, a template alone doesn’t guarantee a good final published website. But what I’ve named ‘website DIY kits’.
They’re going to be frameworks for people to create their own website, without being completely lost and not knowing where to even start. And also to be able to make it their website, so that the internet can be diverse!!!
I’m working on the details, but it’ll be using Notion. And it will for sure include guides on customizing the website, writing the content, setting objectives for it, as well as checklists, SEO tips, and the Notion template to define and manage a personal brand.
They will also be limited. Meaning not more than an X amount of people can ever buy each kit, and when one is gone, it’s gone forever.
How am I going to do that? I’m planning to create and publish one a week, but if things get busy (*cough* uni *cough*), I’ll need to tone it down to one every 2 weeks.
This past week, I’ve been working on a website template for photographers. Not available yet. But what the h*ll, you are reading my blog post, so you can see it:
“Go watch this” of the week

Lets’s chat in the comments
Do you own an aroma diffuser?

Alright, and that’s a wrap up.
